Cleaning Tile

Every once in awhile, I check in with Seventh Generation’s “Science Man” and found the latest Q&A to quite relevant in my house – I bet you might find it handy, too.
QUESTION:
I have tile floor in my house, that I wash a lot but the grout is dirty and discolored. How can I clean it without using a harsh chemical?
ANSWER:
There are actually several natural approaches to cleaning your grout. Non-chlorine bleaches such as our Seventh Generation Chlorine Free Bleach can be sprayed on grout or applied with a rag or sponge and either scrubbed with a toothbrush or left to dry.
Another option is to make a paste of baking soda and water, apply to the grout, let sit for 30 minutes and then rinse with water or remove with a wet sponge or rag. You can also use equal parts water and vinegar, scrub with a stiff brush and rinse with water. Steam cleaners are also effective and only require water to get the job done.
