Help has arrived for parents and child care providers who want to choose environments that are safe, healthy, and free of chemicals of concern. The Eco-Healthy Child Care (EHCC) program ensures that child care settings are as environmentally healthy as possible.Child care facilities qualify as “Eco-Healthy” by completing a checklist that highlights 25 simple steps that ensure a safe place for children. Eco-Healthy providers commit to reducing children’s exposure to toxics and other environmental health hazards.
Facilities that qualify receive an endorsement certificate and a poster that let parents and others know of their efforts, and demonstrates their commitment to being Eco-Healthy. Endorsed programs across the country are also listed on the website.

FIO360 Eco Early Care and Learning Center is a preschool dedicated to providing an eco-healthy environment and program for children. FIO opened a little over a year ago in Atlanta Georgia. The facility was built to the highest eco-healthy standards which include – zero VOC paint and celing tiles, no carpet, low VOC adhesives, formaldehyde free cabinets, HEPA and microbial air filtration, whole center water filtration, radiant heat floors and much more. FIO operates an eco-healthy program daily which includes organic meals and snacks, green cleaning products, shoeless environment for the children, organic blankets and organic mattresses.
