kidishes – an alternative to plastic for kids

June 2, 2009

I’ve traded in some of my plastic storage containers for glass ones but I haven’t been able to trade in the plastic dishes that my daughter uses.  Not only is there concern about BPA in plastics but you shouldn’t microwave them either, which tends to be inconvenient.

That’s why I’m so excited about the new kidishes from Zoe B Organic!  They are made with tempered glass, 4 – 5 times stronger than standard glass and doesn’t break into shards if it does break.  They are 100% recyclable, microwave and dishwasher safe.   Check out the video above to see kidishes in action!

kidishes come in glasses, bowls, and plates all for reasonable prices!  Glasses – $11.99 for four.  Plates and bowls – $13.99 for four.  I’m putting in my order today and if you do order, use code KID for a 10% discount through June 30, 2009!

I go in fits and starts with my hatred for plastic, but just last night I read this great unbiased article in The New Yorker about the chemicals and how they get into babies, breastmilk, and everything in between! Ug. Check out the article here:

I went into the kitchen and threw out all of our plastic cups (again!)

In addition to kidishes, if you want to switch to highly tempered glass water bottles for kids and grown ups, you can check them out here:
