Trista Sutter may be best known for her appearance on The Bachelorette, and subsequent marriage to Ryan Sutter, but she’s also a green mama to Max, 2, and Blakesley, 5 months.
Q: How did you become interested in a healthier, more eco-friendly lifestyle?
A: Ryan actually turned me on to a more eco-friendly lifestyle. I’ve always been one to want to be efficient with just about everything…time, money, personal energy…so it just made sense that I should be efficient with the energy and resources we use every day too. Why not? There is no need to not throw something in a recycle bin just out of laziness. If we all do our part, the world will be a MUCH cleaner, healthier place, especially for our kids and their kids.
Q: What are some of your favorite eco friendly products?
A: Some of my favorite eco-friendly products are Born Free bottles, Seventh Generation diapers, Earth’s Best organic baby food, re-usable grocery bags, and anything from www.greennest.com.
Q: What healthy or eco friendly habits are you teaching Max?
A: Max is still a bit young to understand an eco-friendly lifestyle, but we do try to teach him to not be wasteful with his food and to respect nature and the environment. He is a pretty active little guy, so teaching him a healthy, active lifestyle comes pretty easily.
Q: Eco-confessions – what habits do you have or products do you use that are not so eco-friendly?
A: Things that I use that aren’t so eco-friendly…well, I just switched from a hybrid SUV to a mini-van, but that was to make travel more efficient as we need the space! I am addicted to Liquid Downy and Tide for washing clothes, even though I’ve tried the eco-friendly options. I’m also addicted to Charmin for toilet paper. I just haven’t been able to make the switch…at least not until they make eco-friendly toilet paper softer!!
