Great post Tiffany.
I loved that you mention to leave the grass clippings on the lawn. Many people still thinks grass clippings will create thatch but for the past 10 years I have never seen an organic lawn with thatch problems. Besides, as you said, those clippings are a great source of nitrogen for the lawn. It will give close to 2 pounds of Nitrogen per year to your lawn.
I've used and sell the Firebelly products as well and in conjunction with some other granular products I would say they are one of the best in the market right now.

Hi Mikal, thank you for mentioning that. I did edit the article and clarify that we use a fertilizer where the primary ingredient is chicken manure!

We don't use chemicals on our lawn either. It's just not worth risking the health of our kids. Stopping by from the blog carnival.

My husband and I practice IPM (Integrated Pest Management) and go chemical-free on our lawn. Your suggestions are great ones. One thing I was wondering if you could clarify in your last item, #5 Chicken Manure, is raw vs. aged manure. I would hate for someone to take fresh chicken manure and spread that on their lawn. Please make sure to let your followers know that they need to use aged manure, otherwise the nitrogen levels are too high in raw chicken manure and could potentially burn their lawns or gardens.
