Spice Up Your Dinner Table with Cloth Napkins
April 21, 2009
I’ve always been a paper napkin fanatic – I can always find an adorable print perfect for any occasion. But I’ve seen so many darling cloth napkins recently that I can’t resist the switch to cloth, particularly because they are easier on the earth and provide cost savings ( $1400 over 4 years according to treehuggingfamily.com ). Paper napkins are wasteful and hard to recycle while cloth is reusable and easily thrown in loads of laundry you are already doing. Let me share my finds – you won’t be able to resist either!
SUPPORT HANDMADE – Etsy is one of my favorite go-to sites for custom, unique gifts. No surprise that I found the perfect cloth napkins for my daughter’s lunchbox. Little Birds Boutique has a dozen or more adorable prints in several sizes and you can customize an order for your family. 4 for $14.
FABKINS – Fabkins are just that, fab napkins! In 9 colorful designs and themes, they are a great way for kid’s to express their personal interests. Fabkins also has fundraising opportunities and can print your school or group logo on napkins. 5 for $22.95.
CLASSIC MONOGRAM – I LOVE monograms and these Classic Hotel Napkins from Pottery Barn may very well become the daily napkin in my house. They are 100% cotton and come in white or ivory with multiple monogram or personalization options. They would only be more perfect if they were 100% organic cotton – hint, hint Pottery Barn. 6 for $24
FABIKINS – Fabikins sets themself apart by offering certified bamboo and organic cotton napkins. They have several fun prints and you can monogram them with your child’s name ( eliminate fighting over who gets what napkin! ). 4 for $22.95
DIY – I love to sew but don’t always have the time to make my own – if you do, save a few bucks and create a completely personalized creation by making your own napkins.
I LOVE when I can make an environmentally friendly choice that’s cute, too.
